The specially designed ClapBat gives immediate audio, visual and sensory feedback indicating correctness of a batters swing. The incorporation of a sliding gravity driven puck assures the bats barrel remains above the batter's hands until the point of impact. At such time, a simulated bat clap will be heard and a 10 ounce shift in bat weight will force the bats head through the hitting zone. This promotes a dominant top hand finish. If the batter fails to keep the barrel/bat head above his hands prior to impact, the puck will slide prematurely. This will result in a bat clap before the impact point and will cause the batter to have a labored swing by way of an excessively heavy barrel. This hand-crafted precision training aid allows the batter to monitor and hone his/her own swing on a consistent basis and if used routinely will increase bat speed and power.
The ClapBat is available with an optional digital speed swing indicator. The indicator permits the athlete to instantly measure his progress by way of a digital readout displaying the speed of the batter's previous swing. An additional benefit is that the athlete receives reinforcing feedback as to the velocity benefit or disadvantage of proper or incorrect swing mechanics. The indicator comes attached to the ClapBat's slide rod but can be easily removed and reattached if so desired.
