D-BAT has designed a tapered barrel to accomplish both of these goals. This design allows a larger bat barrel in the hitting area (5") and lowers the balance point significantly. Bat speed increases 3-5 MPH at the same overall weight. The weight, which is usually at the end of the bat, is relocated to the hitting area of the bat and the (MOI) is reduced.
